Great game again, but Lehtonen really stole this one for the Stars. Pretty classless move by Roussel and he certainly won't win any fans acting like that. Looking forward to the next time these two teams meet its turning into a solid rivarly.

Solid write up. I just wish the Hawks would get more traffic to the net, way to much perimeter shots that the goalies easily see.

I didn't like the taunting, either. Totally agree that Lehtonen was the number one reason the Stars won, despite the deceptive progression of the scoring in the game.

How was Lehtonen not the number one star?

F#$% Rousell, next game go right at the knees of Jamie Benn first shift. You want a goon on your team, pay for it!

Agree. I hate when the Hawks fall in love with the pretty hockey, and don't grind out the goals. That being said, I said the same thing during the playoffs, and they changed their game and did what they had to do. Hats off to their goalie.

Can't believe we didn't sign Roussel when we had the chance.

Kind of guy you love to hate...but love to have on your team.

For sure, perfect 4th liner it seems. He was on an AHL contract with the Canucks not to long ago. Matt Fraser is another guy who the Stars have in their system that was a camp invite for us, he's flourished in the AHL. Then you have Benn who they drafted late from the BCHL.

Gotta love showmanship. Seems like a tough enough guy to back it up too, wouldnt mind having him on the Hawks.

Seriously? There is a little difference between taunting and a dirty hit. Had he hurt one of your stars then I'm all for eye for an eye, but don't wipe the sand out here pal.

I'd like this to be a rivalry but right now the Hawks are still the champ.

Agreed, he seems to be quite different than OTT who could turtle better than my Sulcata. Roussel will normally have the gloves before you can ask, "want to go."

Actually Fraser was included in the trade to Boston for Seguin and now is playing for the Boston AHL team.

Not due to the taunting (which is bushleague BTW), but the elbows to Toews' head. That is the "eye for an eye".

And, I think that if a team tries to be dirty, then the other team should just do it a little bit better. Understand?

Not sure if anyone else heard Brookbanks post game interview on the radio about all of this but he had the right perspective. Basically he said that the guy is getting noticed around the league and that other teams will have an eye on him to make sure he doesn't cross the line.

If he does cross the line that doesn't mean try to dirty another team's star player, like your narrow minded buddy wants. Beat him on the scoreboard.

The only thing that pissed me off was the fact that he was awarded a penalty shot at all. Pretty weak (frank)ing call, especially given the no call on Sharp's break away earlier in the game. A little consistency from the zebras would be nice...but what else is new?

I agree with you completely. If the Hawks come out and play sixty minutes there is no complaining about the refs or dirty plays.

Spare me. This is the kind of guy the Hawks do not want in the organization. See Daniel Carcillo.

Roussell is a cheap shot. Elbows to the head, blind side hits, knee hits do not belong in the Indianhead.

What the Hawks need is another clean but tough player like a Bickell or Bollig. Someone who will not let the Rousels run around like that.

Unlike Burrows, Marchand and Cooke he does tend to back it up but he is starting to look more like a Downie type.
